Historical female-led cruise will set cruise on International Women’s Day

Celebrity Cruises is aiming to make history with the very first cruising with an all-female bridge and officer group on International Women’s History Day. The historical cruise, which sets sail on March 8, 2020, includes a completely female bridge and hotel officer team as part of the cruise line’s “Bridge the Gap” effort.

On the seven-day cruise, passengers will experience a speaker’s series, networking chances, film and documentary screenings intended at inspiring ladies and females to pursue careers in the maritime field.

Simply two percent of mariners worldwide are females, according to the cruise line.

The all-female team was signed up with by nearly 100 United female workers in locations consisting of Airport Operations, Inflight Solutions, Flight Operations, Technical Operations, Network Operations and more.

In honor of International Women’s Day 2018, Emirates ran a flight with an all-female team from Dubai to San Francisco, from the cockpit team to cabin crew, check-in personnel to the ground operators. In 2017, Air India became the first airline to finish a round-the-world journey with a completely female crew. Flight AI 174 flew from New Delhi (DEL) to San Francisco over the Pacific Ocean and back to Delhi over the Atlantic.
